Zdjęcia z uroczystości prezentujemy w galerii – te które otrzymaliśmy z British Academy są wykonane przez ich fotografa p. Simona Way.
On 28th November, Mr. Jan Rapacz and Mr. Jan Grzywinski had the great pleasure to participate in the award ceremony at the prestigious British Academy in London in the company of Professor Celia Britton (Fellow of the British Academy), other distinguished guests including representatives of a number of foreign embassies and the award winning schools.
In addition to the monetary award to help facilitate our project work to encourage more pupils to take Polish to higher levels, the Polish Saturday School in Manchester, represented by its Chairman of Governors Mr. Jan Rapacz, also received a handsome engraved glass award and certificate from Seema Pathan, Television and Radio Presenter and a representative of Chelsea football club.
It was a marvelous experience to receive the award in such illustrious surroundings and to see the wide diversity of other winning projects from across the United Kingdom selected by a panel of judges from more than one hundred applications.
We were impressed by the other language projects featuring innovative ways to encourage the learning of languages and the commitment of the young people taking part in the award ceremony.
The British Academy for the humanities and social sciences was established by Royal Charter in 1902. Its purpose is to inspire, recognise and support excellence and high achievement in the humanities and social sciences, throughout the UK and internationally, and to champion their role and value.
