Russian and East European Studies A Meeting with film director Lech Majewski and screening of 20th<\/sup> February 2015 from 6 pm to 9 pm Polish artist, filmmaker, poet and stage director Lech Majewski is visiting Manchester in February. Russian and East European Studies and the University of Manchester Polish Student Society are hosting a meeting with the director followed by a screening of his movie THE MILL &THE CROSS.<\/p>\n Lech Majewski \u2013 a widely reputed Polish visual artist with retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and artworks on view at the Venice Biennale \u2013 has created a motion picture THE MILL &THE CROSS based Peter Bruegel\u2019s painting The Way to Calvary<\/em>.<\/p>\n This unique digital tapestry, composed of layer upon layer of perspective, atmospheric phenomena and people, required countless patience and imagination as well as the use of new CG technology and 3D effects.
